This is another flash back retro post from 2013, to capture our first family trip in Harvey in October 2007.
Craig had a dream for many years for our family to stay close together, spend lots of happy time together, the best way would be to take family trips in an rv. We rented on back in 1998, when we were just a family of 4, with N on the way. We had a great time. We went from Houston to Corpus and Rockport area(in-laws and beach) up through San Antonio(and Sea World) and to Austin (Lake Travis).
We had such a wonderful relaxing time together, we knew we wanted to capture and save these simple times together.
Our first rv trip started off in Rockport, Texas. My in laws lived here for many years of my early motherhood career. I spent many happy times exploring the general area with Max in tow. It's always held a special place in my heart. The Rockport beach is the best, a long slow decline where kids can have lots of freedom to play in the calmer bay waters. An annual day pass pays for itself quickly, and we have only had great times.
Occasionally there are jellyfish invasions at this beach, we've usually encountered the cabbage head kind.
Nearby on Goose Island is Big Tree park, with a really big tree. It is amazing. The area of big trees and how they all look so connected makes me think live oaks are really big, long living weeds.
We spent a little time in Corpus, then over the ferry ...
(I thought Craig was crazy to drive that big rolling box onto the ferry, but he made it look easy).

|tight fit, but all safe|
Then, we thought we'd take the scenic drive back up toward Houston, and go through Galveston. We stayed at the beach side state park in Galveston.
